Indulge in sweet bliss with our homemade 'Crystal Caramel Candies' recipe. Irresistible treats for moments that need a little extra sparkle!
Take note
Be careful while working with hot caramel to avoid burns. It's always a good idea to have an adult supervise if you're doing this with kids.
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of water, and 2 tablespoons of corn syrup. Give it a quick stir to mix everything together.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and let the mixture come to a boil. Allow it to boil without stirring until it turns a golden amber color, usually around 8-10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully add 1/4 cup of unsalted butter and 1/4 cup of heavy cream. Be cautious as it might sizzle and bubble up. Stir until the butter is completely melted and incorporated into the caramel.
Pour the hot caramel mixture into a shallow greased dish and allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes. Once it's cool enough to touch but still pliable, use a greased knife or cookie cutter to cut out your desired shapes. Place the candies on a parchment-lined baking sheet to set completely.
To give your Crystal Caramel Candies their beautiful sparkle, roll each candy in a bowl of sugar until coated. You can use regular granulated sugar or if you have colored sugar crystals, they'll make your candies shine even more!
