Take note
Please note that this recipe requires some basic sushi-making skills. Be careful when handling sharp objects and hot ingredients. Also, keep in mind that the cooking times may vary depending on your own kitchen setup.

1

Cook the sushi rice

Rinse 1 cup of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Add the rice and 1.25 cups of water to a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes to steam.

2

Prepare the sushi pizza fillings

While the rice is cooking, chop your favorite sushi ingredients into small pieces. You can use fresh vegetables like cucumber, avocado, and bell peppers, or go for traditional sushi fillings like crab sticks or smoked salmon. Get creative and flavor it up!

3

Mix the sushi rice with rice vinegar

Transfer the cooked rice to a large bowl and gently fluff it with a fork. Pour 3 tablespoons of rice vinegar over the rice and gently mix it in to evenly distribute the flavor. Let the rice cool completely before proceeding.

4

Assemble the sushi pizza rolls

Lay a sheet of seaweed (nori) on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean tea towel. Wet your hands with water to prevent sticking, then evenly spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the seaweed, leaving a small border at one end. Arrange your desired fillings on top of the rice, making sure not to overstuff.

5

Roll it up!

Using the sushi mat or tea towel, carefully roll the sushi into a tight log, applying gentle pressure along the way. Wet the small border of the seaweed with water to seal the roll. Repeat with the remaining seaweed, rice, and fillings.

6

Slice and serve

With a sharp knife, slice each sushi pizza roll into bite-sized pieces. Arrange them on a platter and serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side. It's time to enjoy your Sushi Pizza rolls extravaganza!
