No grill? No problem! Learn our oven method to cook a mouthwatering Tomahawk Steak that will leave your guests in awe.
Take note
Be careful when handling the hot oven and steak to avoid burns. Make sure to use oven mitts and exercise caution at all times.
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and allow it to heat up for about 15 minutes. We want that oven nice and hot!
Generously season your Tomahawk Steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Don't be shy, this steak can handle some flavor!
Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat on the stovetop. Once the skillet is smoking hot, add a tablespoon of oil. Carefully place the steak in the skillet and sear it for 2-3 minutes on each side. This will give it a nice crust.
Using oven mitts, transfer the cast iron skillet with the seared steak directly into the preheated oven. Cook the steak for about 15-20 minutes or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. For a medium-rare steak, aim for an internal temperature of 130°F (55°C).
Once the steak is cooked to perfection, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a tender and juicy steak. Slice against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy!
