Take your Pound Cake to the next level with a swirl of decadent chocolate. Our recipe will guide you through the process of creating a jaw-dropping marble masterpiece.
Take note
Be careful not to overmix the batter when creating the marble swirl. Too much mixing can result in a loss of the marbling effect.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter and 2 cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in 4 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with 1 cup of milk. Mix until just combined.
Take 1/3 of the prepared batter and place it in a separate bowl. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 4 ounces of dark chocolate. Pour the melted chocolate into the reserved batter and gently fold it in until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in a loss of the marbling effect.
Grease and flour a Bundt pan. Pour half of the plain batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Spoon dollops of the chocolate batter on top of the plain batter. Using a skewer or a knife, gently swirl the two batters together to create a marble effect. Repeat with the remaining plain and chocolate batters.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy a slice of chocolate marble heaven!
