In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of blueberries, 1/4 cup of sugar, and a handful of torn basil leaves over medium heat. Stir occasionally and cook until the blueberries burst and release their juices, and the mixture thickens slightly. This should take about 10 minutes.
In another saucepan, bring 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and a pinch of salt to a boil. Remove from heat and add 1 cup of all-purpose flour all at once. Stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball. Return the saucepan to low heat and cook for an additional 2 minutes, constantly stirring.
Transfer the cooked mixture to a mixing bowl. Let it cool for a few minutes. Beat in 4 large eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. The dough should become glossy and sticky.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Fit a pastry bag with a large star tip and fill it with the dough. Pipe 3-inch long strips onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (180°C) and bake for an additional 10 minutes. The eclairs should be golden brown and puffed.
Once the eclairs have cooled, slice them in half using a serrated knife. Fill the bottom half with the blueberry basil mixture. Place the top half back on. For some extra pizzazz, dust the eclairs with powdered sugar and garnish with a few fresh basil leaves.
